Customer Service
General Information The UCSD Surplus Sales Store serves
as an outlet to reutilize, liquidate, and dispose of excess university property.
The surplus property can be viewed on Wednesdays between 8am to 2pm or by
appointment on other workdays. UCSD department buyers and the general public are
welcome to these viewings. All of the items available for sale / transfer are
tagged with lot numbers for easy identification. The warehouse is located at
7835 Trade St. San Diego, Ca. 92121 behind Ste. 100 (Northeast corner of the
building). This location is midway between the I-805 and I-15 freeways, just
North of Miramar Rd.
Public Sales Public sales are conducted via a monthly
sealed bid process. A listing of the lots that are available for bid during this
month can be viewed on this site. The items are divided by category and listed
alphabetically by description. Bid sheets are available at the warehouse or online
in pdf format. Bids must be
received by the last Wednesday of the month at 2pm Pacific time. Bidders are
encouraged to physically view the equipment, if possible. Successful bidders
will be notified by telephone following the bid closing. All property is sold
“as-is, where-is”, and the successful bidder will be responsible for payment and
removal of the awarded lots within 7 days of notification. Payment can be made
by cash, cashier’s check, Credit/Debit card, money order or traveler’s check. California sales tax
will be applied to public sales unless reseller’s permit documentation is
provided. Please note that there is no warranty on any of the equipment sold at
the Surplus Sales store, and that all sales are final. University does guarantee
that it holds legal title to any equipment being sold at the store. Office
furniture category items are not sold using the bid process, they are sold on a
“cash & carry” basis. For step-by-step instructions, see
how the public buys from Surplus Sales.
